The Ides of March are upon us! In Obsolete country this means only one thing – the time when we pay homage to the birth of the modern era’s premiere Renaissance-man entertainer William (Bill) Shatner. This month (Easter Sunday!) we’re pulling out all the stops & diving deep into a Pagan, polyester rabbit-hole of 70s ‘Shatitude.’ Join us – won’t you?

First up: the proto-Wild Hogs whats-it PRAY FOR THE WILDCATS (1974), a fever-dream TV film featuring the red-hot cast of Robert Reed (Mr. Brady), Andy Griffith & Angie Dickinson. The Shat-man is a suicidal ad exec who embarks with his cronies on a reckless dirt-bike Vision Quest down the Baja peninsula, led by psychopathic corporate mogul Griffith. Nuff said? Hold on tight down the curves!

Then we descend once more to the Dark Side with our fearless leader for the notorious THE DEVIL’S RAIN (1975). Satanic priest Corbis (Ernest Borgnine!) is a bit of a control freak (aren’t they all?) who has cursed the god-fearing Preston family for years to obtain a powerful Satanic book. It’s up to the Preston bros. (Shatner & Tom Skeritt) to confront & defeat this goat-monster with his own magic, along with ‘psychic researcher’ Eddie Albert! Oh yeah - did we mention the Satanic cred of an Anton LaVey cameo (technical advisor), and film debut of young John Travolta? See you in Hell!!!

So come along as we boldly go where we go each month – Freddy's Backroom - for an afternoon of Shat-faced chills, thrills & pills, with exciting trivia & prizes and amazing Happy Hour specials!
