Obsolete Cinema is many things: a blog, a screening series, a way of life. We have shown free movies in Brooklyn, New York, since 2011, and now we're taking over the Internet.

Inspired by a warehouse full of VHS tapes that founder Josh Machlin lived in, the screening series holds a monthly residency at Freddy’s Bar. Every fourth Sunday of every month, Josh and co-host Tony Nigro give bar patrons a nostalgic experience of free movies, trivia, prizes and more. The goal: a fever dream of home video's golden era. The movies you think you remember on a format you can't forget.

If you're new here, start by checking out our post What We Talk About When We Talk About Obsolete Cinema. Then sign up for our newsletter and hang out a while to catch up on all things Obsolete.
